When it comes to visual special effects our biggest supply has to come from the movies. Big budgets and huge timescales should equate to a bucket load of visual tricks which strive to integrate seamlessly into real life footage. Here are some to watch out for in the near future.
MAN OF STEEL (2013)
New Superman movie due for release 14th June 2013.
Filming has already begun with Brit Henry Cavill in the suit so they have a good couple years to work on the effects for this one.
Mixed reactions as to the casting of Henry Cavill but I think everyone deserves a chance. He might turn out to be one of the best Supermans’ ever, you never know! The cast has some household names with the likes of Laurence Fishburne, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner and Amy Adams as Lois Lane so there’s no shortage of talent! Let’s hope they’ve got a good story line to match the scope of what could be achieved with the CGI.
With a revised suit and a meaner persona, Superman is set to be more like his comic counterpart than the Superman of old and I should think so too, it’s about time!

Marvel have been very busy over the last few years meeting the demands of generations of people who have grown up on comics. A Marvel comic with your favourite ceral on a Saturday morning was tops for many of us back in the day!
Marvel have approved countless projects on most of their comic characters and some are just begining their second round on the silver screen. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengance due 17th February 2012 stars Nicholas Cage, directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the guys responsible for Crank and Crank: High Voltage.
Also in the pipeline for 3rd July 2012 is The Amazing Spiderman, directed by Marc Webb starring Andrew Garfield as the ever ready Peter Parker. Remember the scientist Dr Curt Connors? You know, the one that was alright one minute then physco the next? I’m sure he turned into some kind of human lizard!
2012 sees the screen intro of the Avengers. We’ve seen most of them, but together? No joke, it should be good watching, I’ve never known the Hulk to behave himself much less be part of a team!
In 2013 Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 hits the screens and in 2014 we should get The Amazing Spiderman 2.
